This is an excellent early migrant spot, well worth a visit between mid April and early May. Best visited early morning to avoid dog walkers and so the birds are most active. Probably the best site for grasshopper warbler in the county, good for early Swifts, Cuckoos, Redstarts, Ring Ouzels maybe the odd scarcity like a Hoopoe or Wryneck and very good for most of our summer visiting warblers. A Paddyfield warbler was trapped here in the autumn of 2009, an extremely rare bird in this country.
